- It's tomorrow night, you know.
How do you plan to spend New Years Eve? Do you think you’ll enjoy one of the activities from this list?
Fireworks
There is never a bad time for fireworks and New Years is as great of a time to celebrate as any! Do you love fireworks enough to want to see them for New Years?
Pajama and Movie Party
You don’t have to stay up all night but if you want to, you certainly can! Have everyone dress in pajamas, bring snacks and cuddle up in a sleeping bag for a huge New Years Eve sleepover.
Throw A Party
There’s no party like a New Years party! Be sure to have lots of snacks and drinks, noise makers and confetti and of course something to toast to the New Years with at midnight!
Watch The Ball Drop
If you can make it until the ball drop, you really should! It’s fun and a tradition to see the ball drop on New Years Eve. (And I think there’s a way to watch the ball drop “early” for the littles that want to see it and their tired parents.) What do you think of watching the ball drop as a way to spend New Years Eve?
Toss A Coin
If you throw a coin in the air at midnight, it’s said to increase wealth. The tradition also states to place coins in the corners and nooks and crannies of your house to increase your chances of receiving wealth.
Toast with Something Bubbly
Whether it’s champagne or sparkling juice, it’s fun to have a glass of something sparkly to celebrate the beginning of a New Year.
Do The Countdown
If you’re going to stay up until midnight anyway, you may as well do the countdown, watch the ball drop, enjoy a midnight kiss and cheers with something sparkly! Why not? It’s about to be a new year!
Have a Midnight Kiss
You don’t need to be in a romantic relationship for this either it could be your pet or even a kiss on the cheek from a friend
Enjoy A Plate of Hoppin’ John
This dish is peas, mostly black-eyed peas, with rice and pork. This dish is said to bring luck and peace to anyone who eats it on New Year’s Eve. It’s served with cornbread and collard greens because of their similarities to gold and paper money. This could be a fun way to spend New Years Eve.
Make Your Resolutions
Whether you want to get into the gym at least twice a week (which PS lowers your chance of dying of cancer by 31%) or just start eating more vegetables, there’s no better time to make some changes for 2025. (And there’s no time left if it’s New Years Eve, so start making some plans already!)
Decorate A New Years Tree
This tradition dates back to the 1600s. To decorate a New Year’s Tree, you simply switch out the ornaments and decorations!
Eat 12 Grapes
Specifically at the stroke of midnight, you should eat 12 grapes. But beware, if you don’t eat your grapes by the last chime, you could be in for a year of misfortune.
Send “Thank Yous”
There are people that have helped you this year, whether with actions or just a lot of encouraging words. To whoever has helped make last year better, make sure you let them know! This is such a sweet way to love your people and spend New Years Eve.
Write and Burn
Literally write all the things you don’t want to take into the new year with you on a piece of paper, and then burn it. Call it cathartic, call it a little messy, or just do it.
So what do you think of these as ways to spend New Years Eve? Let me know in the comments!
