Are These Chocolate Combinations Weird?: Part One

  • Even chocolate lovers may not love these chocolate combinations.

Sure, you like chocolate but would you like it mixed with the things on this list? Do you think these chocolate combinations are weird?

With Wasabi

Hot chocolate, but not like that. This could be an amazing find for a sushi lover as it has a big kick but also a pleasant and tasty flavor. Wasabi and chocolate are quite the combination for people who want some sweet heat with their chocolate snack. There is 54.4% dark chocolate combined with wasabi to create this delicious delicacy.

With Lavender

Lavender lattes are so delicious so it makes sense that chocolate and lavender would be good, too. Balance the fragrant, soothing and floral lavender with a dark chocolate, helping to create a subtle and delicious combination. A 72% dark chocolate can help balance a French lavender. What do you think of this as one of the chocolate combinations?

With Green Tea

People love chocolate and coffee but will they love green tea and chocolate? As a niche flavor in the UK it’s different from green tea flavored sweets available in Asia. Green tea can be used to flavor cakes, cookies and pudding. This should be a flavor duo that is unmatched and it really can be. A vegan Japanese chocolate uses oat cream and matha to create smooth white chocolate truffles. This is one mixture that any green tea lover should give a shot and at least try.

With Insects

Some call it insects while others call it a delicacy with vital nutrients that we all need. Most bugs are full of protein, healthy fats, and minerals like iron and calcium and about two billion of us eat them. Anyhow, what about a chocolate covered cricket. Have you ever heard of those? You could also try a chocolate covered scorpion, though those are poisonous and although I’m sure they’re safe, they sound a bit questionable. Would you enjoy these as one of the chocolate combinations?

With Pepper and Raspberry

Though we aren’t talking about strawberries, mixing pepper and strawberries is a delicious pair. So doing so with tart raspberries and slightly warmed pepper should work just as deliciously. A UK based chocolate company combined free-dried raspberries with green peppercorns and milk chocolate, thus creating a sharp yet sweet taste. It’s less spicy than a chocolate and chili but also the perfect way to enjoy a little heat induced chocolate.

With Tobacco

Would you try chocolate that’s been infused with tobacco? The chocolate has a smoky flavor with notes of sweet vanilla and heady woody, adding to the depths of taste for this chocolate flavor. Some people would probably love this as one of the chocolate combinations!

With Cheese and Onion Crisps

Would you try a cheese, onion and chocolate crisp bar? It was introduced in Ireland but is unfortunately no longer sold. Did you miss out on this chocolate bar flavor or are you glad you missed it?
