- Having no limbs certainly doesn’t seem to slow this guy down.
Maryland police recently got stuck with a strange suspected homicide case. The unusual part isn’t that the suspect allegedly shot a man in his car.
It’s that he did it without having arms or legs. And then he drove more than 100 miles away in a seeming attempt to escape the cops.
He’s also a professional cornhole player, according to media reports.
Dayton James Webber, 27, was out with his friends when he reportedly got into an argument with one of them. So, the quadruple amputee from La Plata, Maryland, allegedly pulled out a weapon and shot Bradrick Michael Wells, also 27, dead.
According to the police, Webber asked his other friends to help him get rid of Wells’ body, but they instead ran away to call the cops. Left alone, Webber is accused of dumping Wells out of the vehicle elsewhere and then going on the run.
He was eventually discovered in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he had sought medical help at a hospital. The police were waiting for him at the door when he got discharged.
Webber has been charged with first-degree murder and is awaiting extradition to Maryland.
Fatal Argument
According to police reports, the shooting incident happened on March 22, 2026, in La Plata. Webber had reportedly been out driving in his Tesla with Wells and two other people in the car.
Shortly after 10 p.m., Webber and Wells got into an argument over an unknown topic. Their spat got so heated that Webber allegedly produced a handgun.
And then he shot Wells in the head.
You might wonder how a quadriplegic with no hands or most of his legs is capable of operating a firearm. However, Webber’s social media videos show that he is more than capable of shooting with the limbs that he has.
After shooting Wells, Webber pulled the car over and asked the two other people in the car to help him pull Wells out of the vehicle. They, however, refused to participate and escaped.
The individuals called 911 and reported what had happened. The police then put out a call for law enforcement officials and hospitals to be on the lookout for Webber’s white 2022 Tesla.
Escape to a Hospital
Some two hours later, the police got another 911 call. Someone had found Wells.
According to local news, Webber had dumped Well in Charlotte Hall, some 10 miles east of La Plata. Police and medical staff arrived at the scene, only to pronounce Wells dead.
Around the same time, the cops got on Webber’s trail. They were able to track his movements through his cell phone’s and Tesla’s data.
The tracking showed that Webber appeared to be on the run. Over the next couple of hours, he drove nearly 150 miles away to Charlottesville, Virginia.
There, the local police found Webber’s car, with bullet damage in the passenger side window, at a hospital. It appeared that Webber had checked in to get help for undisclosed medical issues.
The cops weren’t in a rush, though. They waited until Webber had gotten the treatment he needed and, as he was released from the hospital, arrested him as a fugitive from justice.
Webber has reportedly been charged with first- and second-degree murder, among other charges. He is currently waiting to be extradited back to Charles County, Maryland.
Previous Charges
This isn’t the first time Webber has had a run-in with the law. He was previously known to law enforcement due to a drunk driving incident in 2020.

On October 9 that year, shortly before 2 a.m., Webber was driving a white pick-up truck in Mechanicsville, Maryland. He lost control of the vehicle and struck a Maryland State Police SUV before careening into the side of a nearby building.
Yet, the legless man didn’t stick around. The cops later arrested him at a nearby house.
Due to running away, Webber was charged with failure to remain at the scene of an accident. He also got slapped with two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence, in addition to negligent and reckless driving.
