Townsends, a YouTube Channel dedicated to 18th-century living and dining, explains a recipe from 1784 that would today be called macaroni and cheese.

Simply called “macaroni” in the 17th century, the classic dish looked just as delicious back in the day. The recipe was probably way healthier too, considering most mac & cheese is made with powdered cheese these days.
