- Because really, it could go either way. (I choose love.)
The Dallas woman who tweeted the story of “Plane Bae” is now apologizing for invading their privacy. She recorded the interactions of two stranger passengers who seemed to hit it it off. It could have been love.
Then she posted it for the world to see. And now she says she’s sorry, but is she?
The thing is, she didn’t delete the posts until she had received coverage from several news outlets including HuffPost, BuzzFeed, and others. Blair publicly apologized on Tuesday saying, “The last thing I want to do is remove agency and autonomy from another woman.”
The whole thing took place on a flight from Dallas. A woman asked Blair if she would switch with her so that she could sit next to her boyfriend.
“We made a joke that maybe her new seat partner would be the love of her life and well, now I present you with this thread,” Blair tweeted last Tuesday.
Well the two hit it off and the female passenger ended up having a connection with her her seatmate. The male was former soccer pro Euan Holden.
Blair documented the entire flight. She said that the two both were personal trainers. She even says that they “went off to the bathroom at the same time.”
According to Holden, he was pleased with the thread and used it to promote himself, as it did Blair.
But the female passenger was not feeling the same about it. She did not want to be identified yet Blair encouraged “sneaky” Twitter users to use their internet skills to identify her.
The woman was hassled so much that she cancelled her social media accounts. Blair apologized saying their connection made her feel “happy, joyful and overcome with authentic and sincere excitement” that she “could not see the potential exploitative nature of the outcome and my actions.”
But even after her apology, some people still had doubts as to how sincere she really was. What do you think of it all?
