Burger King Worker is Shot and Killed Over Fast Food Order Taking Too Long

  • He said, “You got two seconds before I shoot.”

In happened in Florida, (not to hate, but of course it did.) A woman thought her food was taking to long and had a man go to the restaurant and shoot one of the employees.

The shooting happened on Saturday around 7:30 p.m. according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. When police arrived to the scene, they found Desmond Armond Joshua, 22, with a gunshot wound in the parking lot.

He was pronounced dead after being taken to the area hospital. The incident caught on video showed Joshua in a physical altercation with another male who had him in a headlock.

The restaurant was busy Saturday night and the drive-thru line was unexpectedly backed up. Customers had a longer wait than usual and one woman in particular, had a huge issue with it.

The woman got out of her vehicle and began yelling that she would have “her man” come to the restaurant. The woman was refunded her $40 and asked to leave, according to records.

She waited in her black sedan for a few minutes, turned around, and came back. A man  in a white truck was with her, and approached Joshua demanding that he “fight him.”

The man, later identified as Rodriguez-Tormes, put Joshua into a headlock and starting choking him. A witness pulled him off of Joshua, but then Rodriguez-Tormes went to his car and got a gun. He said, “You got two seconds before I shoot you.”

He then shot Joshua and fled in his white truck, along with the woman in her black truck. Joshua had just started working at the restaurant when the shooting happened.

Both the woman and Rodriguez-Tormes were interviewed after the shooting. Their statements are mostly redacted but the report did indicate that Rodriguez-Tormes dismantled the gun used in the shooting and placed it “in a location which cannot be located.”

Rodriguez-Tormes has been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm, destruction of evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
