Bear Bargains Bones For Bin Access With Barky Bestfriend

  • He's smarter than the average bear!
Everyone likes being safe, right? Guard dogs are perfect for that! They scare off the intruders, that is until you get the bears…
Brickleberry The Guard Dog
Jesse Jordan of North Ontario has a dog, Brickleberry (or Brick), for a year. Raised as Jordan’s own child after the dogs mother died three days after she gave birth to ten puppies, Jordan wanted to train the dog as a guard dog to help keep animals out of his trash; This bear had different plans.
How About One Bone For Your Trash?
In a series of tweets, Jordan said that his “idiot furry son,” as he put it, was being bribed by a bear. The bear brought deer bones to bribe the dog on three separate occasions. On the first encounter it seemed to be an accident. The second prompted Jordan to research bear deterrent. After that, the third time, he knew the bear was no dummy.
Jordon’s Own Words
Jordan’s tweet was: “My idiot furry son has one job at night – bark at things and make them go away. Easy, right? HOWEVER, a bear has learned that my furry son can be bought. This is the THIRD TIME he’s been gifted deer bones in exchange for accesses to my trash. AND HE KEEPS DOING IT.”
“I declared the bear my nemesis. Which is probably pretty awkward for my dog to hear because, as someone pointed out in the thread, it’s pretty clear that Brick is friends with this bear at this point.
“Although I basically handed my dog this position of power, it’s become very clear that he has no idea how to actually do the job properly. Now not only do I have to clean up a huge mess, I see him putting his own self-interest first. Clearly, I have no choice but to impeach him,” he tweeted Jordon said that Brick scares raccoons, foxes and coyotes, most nights.
How Does One Stop Smart Bears?
How does Jordan plan to take care of the bear? “Fortunately, the problem is going to get solved incidentally. I’m going to be buying a house about an hour and a half away so I’m closer to the city. While Brickle might lose out on his bear buddy, he’ll be able to hang out with some of his furry siblings at the nearby dog park.” You can take four simple steps to keep bears out of your yard.
