6 Tips to Protect Yourself During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The coronavirus pandemic affected the world in a matter of months and changed the lives of millions of people. It is a harmful illness that didn’t come with a cure, although scientists already plan a vaccine. People have tried their best to escape the risk of infection by following many rules. They’ve also been put to lockdown to minimize the spread of disease. However, the danger hasn’t passed yet, so we must still protect ourselves by using the following useful tips.

1. Socially Distance

When it comes to avoiding a contagious disease, social distancing is probably the best way to protect yourself, but others, too. You should be able to keep a distance from others, regardless of the place you’re at. It’s also essential to avoid crowded places, public areas, and minimize human interactions so that you can limit the risk of getting infected with the coronavirus.

2. Wear Face Masks

The primary gateways to coronavirus are your mouth and nose, so, you’ll want to keep those well-protected. If (unfortunately) already have the virus, it’s more vital to avoid spreading it around by simply breathing. Buy organic face masks to avoid breathing in or out the virus, so that you can keep you and others around safe. Also, don’t touch your mask with dirty hands, as this could risk your health even more.

3. Wash Your Hands Regularly

COVID-19 can be a deadly virus (in some cases), but it becomes weak in front of hygienic products. Washing your hands regularly and using a hand sanitizer can help you in a long way fighting Corona. Avoid touching your face with dirty hands, especially in public places. Wash your hands as often as possible daily, for at least 20 seconds.

4. Cover Coughs and Sneezes

Coughing and sneezing without being sick aren’t new. However, since coughing and sneezing are signs of coronavirus disease, it’s best to cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing. Use a napkin when sneezing, and throw it in the bin. If you don’t have any napkin nearby, make sure you bend your elbow and sneeze right there. You’ll eliminate the chances of spreading droplets that could be carrying the virus.

5. Keep Your Surfaces Clean

When buying products from the supermarket, or elsewhere, you don’t know how many people touched them, and not all people are as careful and sanitized as you are. For this reason, whenever possible, make sure that you disinfect your hands properly. After returning from shopping, clean all your products before placing them in the refrigerator. As a quick tip, notice that the virus doesn’t live more than 24 hours on a surface. But make sure you clean all your houses’ surfaces. You can use professional products to do the trick or use normal soap and water.

6. Isolate If Necessary

If you find yourself having any of the COVID-19 symptoms, make sure to take action to protect yourself and others around you. Also, if you find out that you’ve been in contact with someone who carries the virus, even if you don’t have any symptoms, make sure you isolate yourself for two weeks. In this time, you’ll notice if any symptoms occur. Remember always to protect yourself and your loved ones, as it’s better to avoid the virus, rather than treating it!
