Everyone has seen the ‘beware of the dog’ signs, but what we need is ‘beware of the squirrel’ signs. At least in Texas.

‘Beware Of The Squirrel’

A frenzied squirrel had been terrorizing people in Bridgeland Shores, Cypress, Texas. While they were trying to leave, this squirrel has bitten multiple people which have had to go to the hospital for stitches. Two women have been put in the hospital. The victims spoke out about it.

Sharlene French-Amezquita

One of the victims hospitalized was Sharlene French-Amezquita who said that she tried to shoo the squirrel away from her front door. The squirrel attacked her instead shooing. “When I stepped outside the door he leapt on me and bit my arm. I pulled him off, threw him on the ground, and tried to get in the house. I couldn’t get in the house because he came back, and he bit [my] leg. It’s scary. I’m just very grateful he attacked me and not my children. We usually don’t go out in the daytime because he comes out in the daytime,” Mrs. French-Amezquita told Click2Houston.

Katie Herrera

The ‘bloodthirsty’ squirrel also targeted Katie Herrera, who simply said that it was terrifying and she was glad it didn’t happen to her children. She suffered bruises and puncture wounds from the squirrel’s claws on her arm. A picture of the squirrel shows a medium-sized gray squirrel perched menacingly on a garden fence. Locals claim that the animal was initially playful, but had recently become aggressive. It has started chewing on doors and then snapping at homeowners who try to drive it away. The fear has caused some of Mrs. French-Amezquita’s neighbors to bunker down during the day. The Texas Parks & Wildlife Authority and animal control have been contacted, but both say they can’t do anything until the squirrel is trapped.
