Random Halloween Activities To Squeeze In With The Kids

  • If you have any free time, these could be a fun way to celebrate before the holiday!

Get in these Halloween activities, you have about a week left! These may be weird, of course, they’re fun!

Make Pumpkin Balloons

All you need is black markers, stickers or paper and orange balloons. It’s fun to start by stuffing the balloons with candies, treats or trinkets before blowing them up. From there, blow up the balloons and let the kids decorate them. This is a fun way to start off the Halloween season and then kids will have fun trying to get the balloons to pop so they can get to the treats. 


Halloween Coloring Pages

Whether you pull out the old school paper and crayons or jump online to find some coloring pages, there are so many ways to do Halloween activities. You could also find a color-by-number app and color in a Halloween picture that way! This could be so fun as Halloween activities. 

Make Costumes

This can be as easy or hard as you want it to be and there are endless ideas online. From your favorite movie characters, to a homemade dress or even an outfit that emulates someone you know in real life, you can make so many things happen. There are tons of ideas online if you aren’t very creative or just haven’t come up with anything. You have about a week left!

Be A Mummy

Speaking of making your own costume, a mummy is such a fun and ultimately easy idea! All you need is a bunch of paper towels or even some toilet paper and some tape and you’re ready to make your costume. Have the costume wear white or nude under and add the paper products by wrapping and taping and placing until the costume is complete. What are you dressing as for Halloween this year? What a fun and random way to get into Halloween activities. 

Pumpkin Washing Station

If you’re going to pick pumpkins and paint or carve them you might as well make a night of it and start by washing them up! Throw a couple of empty totes on the porch and fill them with warm water and a bit of dish soap. From there, have the kids scrub them down, rinse them and dry them up. Now all you have to do is let them dry and decide what you’re doing with the outside of them. 

Create A Scavenger Hunt

Gather about 10 different items, things like Halloween decorum a broom, a pumpkin, etc, and place them around the house or yard, if it’s still warm enough out. Make sure to create some riddles or interesting clues so that the kids can try to find the items in a fun way. If you have a lot of time or are super creative, blend each clue in with the next find. This could also be as simple or as hard as you want it to be. What a fun way to get into Halloween activities!

Go To A Haunted House

Or make your house into a haunted house. You could also visit a place that rumored to be haunted or take a walk outside and do little things to creep out the kids. (Like tapping them on the shoulder, making weird noises or even playing some spooky music on your phone in your pocket.) 

Tell Scary Stories

Whether you’re cuddled with blankets in the living room or around a warm campfire, spooky stories are always fun around Halloween. You could grab some books, throw on an audio book or even tell your stories from scary things that have happened to you. (But careful with this one.. You don’t wanna freak your kiddos out too much with real life and all.)
