- Microtia Awareness Day. If you didn’t know, microtia happens when the outside of your ear is small and not fully formed properly. This happens within the first few weeks of pregnancy and these defects can very from being barely noticeable to being a major problem with how your ear forms. You can treat a bad case with ear prosthetics or microtia surgery.
- National Scrapple Day. In case you didn’t know, scrapple is the first pork food invented in America. Made with a mush of pork scraps and trimmings and then coated in cornmeal, wheat flour, spices like sage, thyme, and black pepper. That mush is formed into a semi-solid loaf, then sliced and pan-fried. It’s most often served at breakfast so scrapple is commonly eaten with eggs, pancakes, potatoes, toast and sometimes ketchup.
