  • Cheerleaders get to attend every home and away game, as they are working (cheering.)
  • Sponsorships are available to the cheerleaders including hair and makeup and any clothes and accessories they need. 
  • The total roster for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is 36.
  • Depending on the year, the number of girls trying out can really vary. Back in 2014, three were over 500 applicants that came and tried out to be a Dallas Cowboys’ Cheerleaders. 
  • Being a cheerleader for the Cowboys is not a full-time job however the girls are needed for things like extracurricular promos and events.
  • Most of the cheerleaders for the team are either in school or have different part-time jobs during the off season. 
  • The girls who audition need to be both physically and mentally strong. They even have to take a test including questions about the team’s history, the NFL, current events and more.
  • Cheerleaders are given a makeover upon making it on the team and can choose their look. However, once they’re done, they cannot change their appearance at all throughout the season and they need to stay recognizable to the fans.
  • If you have tattoos, you can try out for the squad but they cannot be visible while you’re wearing your cheerleader attire. (If it’s visible, it needs to be fully covered and concealed. 
  • Charlotte was made president of the Cowboys’ Cheerleaders by her dad and past owner, Jerry  Jones. She is now also the executive vice president and chief brand officer of the team. 
  • During one game, it’s said that the cheerleaders can burn up to 3,700 calories. 
  • In season, there are weeknight practices from 7pm to 11pm daily and that doesn’t involve game day, making it quite a long week. 
  • The girls are usually in charge of doing their own makeup and it needs to last the entirety of the game.
  • Dallas Cowboys’ Cheerleaders drink about 5 to 6 liters of water a day.
  • To audition, the girls need to submit two photos including a headshot and a full body shot. They also have to include a 20-second intro and 60-second freestyle. 
  • You must be 18 years or older to audition for the Dallas’ Cowboy Cheerleaders. 
  • A lot of the former and current members of the DCC roster are mothers and still continue to fulfill their cheerleading duties.
  • There are classes out there for anyone who wants to prepare for the DCC cheerleading auditions and they are taught by current and/or former Cowboys’ Cheerleaders. 
  • Cheerleaders for the Dallas Cowboys should represent the “Southern Belle.” This adds to a lot of hair teasing and large locks.
  • International applicants are not only allowed but encouraged to try out. 
  • Dallas Cowboys’ Cheerleaders make about $12/hour and about $400.00 for each game.
