March has started and Spring will be here in no time. Until then, celebrate all these fun national holidays in the beginning of March.
The first day of the month is filled with things to celebrate! It’s National Dadgum That’s Good Day, National Peanut Butter Lover’s Day, National Fruit Compote Day, National Horse Protection Day, National Pig Day, and National Minnesota Day. If it’s the weekend, the date moves to the closest school day but otherwise it’s National Read Across America Day. And there are also three holidays on the first Friday in March, National Employee Appreciation Day, National Dress in Blue Day, and National Speech and Debate Education Day. What a fantastic first day of the month!
March 2nd is National Old Stuff Day and National Banana Cream Pie Day. So go through your old stuff, stuff your face with banana cream pie, and take a nap! You’ll need it after all of the holidays you celebrated the day before.
On March 3rd, you can celebrate National Anthem Day, National I Want You to be Happy Day, National Cold Cuts Day, National Mulled Wine Day, and National Soup it Forward Day. And on the first Sunday of the month, it’s Finisher’s Medal Day.
If you love pound cake, then March 4th is your day! It’s also National Pound Cake Day, National Hug a G.I. Day, Marching Music Day, and National Grammar Day.
March 5th has National Multiple Personality Day and National Absinthe Day. Fat Tuesday is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday. And, if these aren’t enough for you, it’s also National Cheese Doodle Day. Yum!

March 8th has several different things to celebrate including International Women’s Day, National Oregon Day, National Peanut Cluster Day, and National Proofreading Day. The seconds Friday in March is (when you SHOULD) celebrate National Day of Unplugging. Because really, we are all plugged in way to much, and a day off is in order. And the Friday after Lent is National Tartar Sauce Day, of course, for all the fish eaters.
National Barbie Day, National Crabmeat Day, National Meatball Day, and National Get Over it Day are all on March 9th.
March 10th is National Mario Day, National Blueberry Popover Day, National Pack Your Lunch Day, National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, and if it’s the second Sunday in March, than it’s also Daylight Savings Time.
March 11th is National Johnny Appleseed Day. It’s also National Worship of Tools Day, National Oatmeal Nut Waffles Day, National Promposal Day, and National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day. And for the day after Daylight Savings, it’s National Napping Day. Not that you need a day to specify in indulging in naps!
March 12th is National Pancake Day at IHOP! And it’s also National Girl Scout Day, National Plant a Flower Day, and National Baked Scallops Day.
National Good Samaritan Day and National Earmuff Day are both celebrated on March 13th. It’s also National Open an Umbrella Indoors Day, National Coconut Torte Day, National K9 Veterans Day, and National Jewel Day. And there’s National Registered Dietician Nutritionist Day if it’s the second Wednesday in March.
March 14th is National Potato Chip Day, National Pie Day, National Learn About Butterflies Day, National Children’s Craft Day, and National Write Down Your Story Day. It’s also National Ag Day.
