Firework
Early in the spring of 2017, Oreo unveiled the Firework cookie. The vanilla creme in this cookie is speckled with blue and red popping candy, kind of like Oreo’s version of Pop Rocks. One writer said that “Oreos are darn good alone and popping candy is just a fun new way to enjoy them even more.” While another wrote, “The only really disappointing part of the Fireworks Oreo is that besides the popping effect, it tastes exactly like a regular Oreo. So it’s a stretch to call it a ‘new flavor.'” Would you try this popping Oreo flavor?
Fruity Crisp
Fruity Crisp came out in June 2016. This vanilla Oreo is filled with a layer of creme filled with rainbow rice crisps. (If it tastes anything like Fruit Pebbles, this vanilla Oreo is a winner.)
Wasabi
Yes, this is a real Oreo cookie flavor that came out. This Oreo comes with the original chocolate cookie and it’s filled with a green creme that resembles the Japanese horseradish-flavored condiment. A reviewer once said the creme was “distinctly wasabi,” and that once it kicks in, “you can’t escape.” This has got to be one of the most bizarre Oreo flavor of all the Oreos.
Salted Caramel Brownie
The Salted Caramel Brownie came out in 2021. It had both brownie-flavored and caramel-flavored creme in it, along with the classic chocolate cookie. Or not so classic? For an added twist, the chocolate cookie was sprinkled with sea salt as well.
Root Beer Float
The vanilla Oreo cookie is used for this flavor, along with both root beer and vanilla creme in the center. The cookie came out in the summer of 2014. A writer who tried the cookie said, “There also seems to be the faintest hint of carbonation, possibly from the baking soda, but also possibly from our over-eager imaginations.” Personally, I’ve had other “root beer-flavored things” that “shouldn’t” have had a slight hint of carbonation either, but they did. And they were truly delicious.
Hot Chicken Wing
First thought? Gross. But Oreo did release this cookie in August 2018 but for consumers in dismay- or even disgust- the flavor was only available in China. Especially serious customers had the chance to buy them on eBay. One reviewer said, “The flavor was the expected salty, fake chicken,” adding, “It did not work at all with the chocolate cookies.” So what do you think? Cookies-N-Cream
This Oreo is of the Most Oreo Oreo’s. These cookies featured were released last year in 2023 called the ‘Most Stuf’ filled with crushed Oreo bits and of course the typical Oreo cream. This cookie is essentially an Oreo inside an Oreo.
Waffles And Syrup
A breakfast-flavored cookie that tastes like waffles and syrup has got to be a winner. Doesn’t it sound good? This Oreo was only available at Albertsons stores in 2017. Maple syrup came through as a flavor in 2019. In 2020, it also rolled out another maple cookie with its Maple Creme Oreos.
Brookie-O
Now this sounds like one of the best Oreo flavors on the list of bizarre Oreos! There’s a way to make this cookie flavor into one sugary and chocolatey dessert and this cookie combines the same things. The Salted Caramel Brownie Oreo had three layers of creme, one being the original creme, one being “brownie” and one being chocolate chip cookie. This flavor was considered a fan-favorite for the brand, so much so, that it returned to stores in September 2022. This doesn’t sound like to most bizarre but better yet, maybe the most delicious!
