Scream Therapy
If you’ve never heard of this, do you want to try it? Scream as long and as hard as you can, and of course, as loud! Let out a shriek or a roar, no matter what it is, just let it out. Scream therapy helps you express and release your emotions. What do you think of this weird therapy?
Ice Tub Therapy
Soaking in ice tubs is a common practice in the health industry and boasts benefits like pain reduction, reduced inflammation, help you to relax and enhance your focus. Ice baths can help you to control your breathing, keeping it slow, deep and controlled.
Wilderness Therapy
Getting outside and into the green space and blue skies is a mood booster so it makes sense that wilderness therapy could be great. This form of therapy gets you out into nature and talking with your therapist or counselor. Wilderness therapy can also include team games, zip lining, and other outdoor activities. Chess Therapy
Chess therapy involves clients and therapists playing the game of chess together, while building a stronger rapport and relationship. This type of therapy helps with problem solving and achieving higher levels of function. Playing chess can also help promote mental well-being and reduce stress levels.
Play Therapy
This is a therapy mostly for children, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t translate to adults. Or that it shouldn’t! It’s fun to play and laugh and play therapy can be a huge part of that. It also helps with communications, expressing feelings, problem solving and learning in new ways. Things like role playing with puppets about a hard situation can be so beneficial. Play therapy gives kids a safe way to connect and share.
Horticulture Therapy
Also called plant therapy, this involves clients and their therapists in gardening and plant-based activities. This therapy combines gardening and social services to improve people with their mental and physical health. This is a weird therapy but sounds awesome!
Gestalt Therapy
In this type of therapy, a client will focus on a feeling they are having and then try to express where the feeling is coming from in his body. This therapy helps clients to become more aware of the sensations and emotions of their bodies.
Sand Therapy
Sand therapy or sand play therapy has been seen to reduce anxiety, withdrawal, and social problems and it is beneficial in relieving depression. Especially in children, sand therapy
Primal Therapy
This type of therapy known as primal therapy often involves crying or screaming, to achieve catharsis and begin to break down psychological defenses. Screaming isn’t recommended as a therapy but hey, maybe it will make you feel better and then it’s worth it.
