- What a yummy, delicious snack to celebrate on this cold and grey, rainy March day.
If you didn’t already know that today was National Chip and Dip day, well, now you do. And here are a bunch of great chip and dip combinations you just have to try out.
Chili Cheese Nachos
All you have to do is pick up a can of premade chili and your preference of “spicy” nacho/cheddar cheese sauce and you’re set. Yes, this is the laziest and easiest way to make this yummy dip but even this way, it’s pretty fantastic food. If you want to use your own homemade chili, beans or beanless, and a homemade cheddar cheese sauce, do it. Either way, you will love this combo and want it again. (Next time, you know, when it’s not National Chips and Dip Day, try it over french fries.) Oh also, there is a dip that is baked and layered, starting with cream cheese on the bottom, canned (or again, homemade,) chili, and topped with shredded cheddar. It is so good and if you haven’t had it before, you just have to try it/
BBQ Chips and Ranch

When you’re raised in Wisconsin, it’s pretty much assumed that you love cheese and beer, and ranch. Yes, don’t forget the condiment that everyone puts on everything, and even that is barely a stretch. So, I do like ranch, but only on raw vegetables, maybe a small spoonful over a taco bowl, or with classic ridged chips. And I only like a teeny, tiny dip, but I’m most definitely the exception. The thing is, ranch is outstanding as a dip with barbeque chips as well. Have you tried it before? Oh, and, and this is a big and, it must be house ranch. None of that sissy Hidden Valley Ranch allowed.
Buffalo Chips and Blue Cheese

There are several brands of chips that are spicy, whether it’s the Flamin’ Hot varieties or buffalo chips. But buffalo chips and blue cheese dressing, together? What a banger. It’s like traditional buffalo wings and blue cheese dip (by the way, this is the only way to eat wings, and no matter how much you love your ranch.) Anyhow, the best blue cheese dip has tons of crumbled blue cheese in it, the smaller pieces, and the more the cheese, the better. Also, always either sprinkle or grind black pepper into your blue cheese dip, it’s just so good with it.
Tortilla Chips and Cheese

Mexican chip and dip combos call for tortilla chips, spicy queso, guacamole, salsa, beans and cheese, and whatever else you like to add to a tortilla chip. Seriously though, Mexican food has the best chip and dip you can have because there are so many ways to enjoy it. Another amazing additional dip would be the cheese, salsa, guacamole, some sour cream, and taco-flavored ground beef to be mixed together. Yum, this is sounding really good right now.
Ruffles and Ranch

This is one of the best ways to have chips and dips, traditional and delicious. House ranch of course, and classic chips or if you prefer, chips with ruffles or ridges, to catch all the extra dip, if you want.
Dill Pickles Chips and Dill Dip
It seems redundant, but if you like either dill pickle chips OR dill dip, you just have to try this mixture. The creamy dill dip filled with fresh, bright dill pairs perfectly with the zippy and perfectly flavored chips. You could even cut up dill pickle chunks to add to the dip. Dill pickle lovers will have all the taste sensations with this delicious, savory snack.
The chili cheese baked dip is warm and comforting enough for this chilly day but Mexican meat flavored cheese dip is always a party in my mouth, too. Decisions, decisions. Which chip and dip will you enjoy for National Chip and Dip day today?
