10 Amazing Examples of Glow-In-The-Dark Art

Hood River, Oregon resident Crispin Young Wilson is a server hardware repairer by day who also does some painting on the side. She painted the ceiling of her friend's son's room to make it look like a beautiful sky. “[My friend] has a little boy who refuses to sleep in his own room. When he got his new place, he wanted me to come over and paint the room, hoping it will entice his son to sleep in it," she said. We have no doubt it did!

Hungarian-born, Vienna-based artist Bogi Fabian's creations look like completely normal bedrooms until you flip on a black light. Suddenly, you're floating in the middle of an open space, surrounded by glowing stars and cosmic clouds. Fabian uses UV paint to fill the room with hidden mural work, often working for long hours in black light to see what she's creating.

Cristoforo (Crisco) Scorpiniti's artwork transforms with the changing of the light. He generally paints either animals or landscapes because these subjects best complement his innovative and mesmerizing approach to art. Check him out on Etsy.

Swiss artist Fabien Oefner visited Ferrari HQ in Maranello, Italy, to give a 2015 California T a neon glow-in-the-dark paint job. He spray-painted the car through 150 mph winds to create a sense of acceleration and speed.

In early 2016, artists created glow-in-the-dark artworks from living organisms as part of the World Science Festival in Brisbane, Australia.
Instead of paint or pencils, they drew with a type of marine bacteria known as Aliivibrio fischeri, which is usually found in the light organ of the Hawaiian bobtail squid. Aliivibrio fischeri live for a few days before running out of nutrients, then it's lights off for the bacteria and the art show.
