There are a lot of stats about Millennials, as the most researched generation of them all. Do you agree with this list?
$28K Of Debt
For the average Millennial, they have about $28,000 in debt. As the generation “most pushed into college,” this is the most common debt they are holding onto.
Experiences>Saving
Experian Credit reported that in 2023, 59% of Millennials would rather spend money on “life experiences” like travel or Taco Fest, rather than putting their money into savings or their retirement. These stats about Millennials make sense, I mean who doesn’t want to experience awesome things?
Workaholics
Although they love experiences, they work hard. A 2013 survey tells us that most of them feel guilty about using time off. And about 16% of Millennials don’t ask off from work at all as it makes them too nervous.
Let Us Help
This is the sentiment when it comes to work and Millennials, they want to help their bosses and other older colleagues. 65% want to mentor older workers in areas like technology. This is one of the sweetest stats about Millennials.
They Can’t Get Enough of China
There are more Millennials are living in China than the entire population of the United States, including all generations. A total of more than 400 million are living in China right now.
1981 to 1996
According to Pew Research, a Millennial is defined as someone born between 1981 and 1996. Though it’s used kind of across the board, the word is used to define a young person, but some Millennials are 40 and over these days. Millennials make up the largest generation of the workforce and as of 2017, 56 million are working or looking for work. This compare to 53 million Gen X’ers and 41 million Baby Boomers, and of course there are Baby Boomers that have retired since then.

The 2019 Stress in America report found that U.S. Millennials rated their stress at a level of 5.4 on a 1 to 10 scale. This compares to 4.2% of Boomers and 3% for who they refer to as older adults.

According to 75% hiring managers, the biggest mistake Millennials are making is dressing casually to interviews.
Lots of Phone Checks
According to a 2018 study, Gen Zer’s unlock their phones about 79 times a day but Millennials aren’t far behind. The report shows they unlock their phones about 63 times a day. We know that 73.4% Millennials are also known for checking their phone within five minutes of getting a notification thanks to a reviews.org study done in 2023. Word Dress Code
Apparently not only are Millennials showing up to their interviews in too casual of clothes, but also their daily work lives. 38% of them have been talking to by management regarding their casual work attire.
Bachelor’s Degree
As the most pushed into college generation, it’s not surprising to hear that most Millennials have a bachelor’s degree, or higher! About 40% have a Bachelor’s whereas only about 30% of Gen Xer’s do. These stats about Millennials make sense too because of the debt and all.
From 1991 On
The term Millennial was coined back in 1991 in the book Generations by historians Neil Howe and Willian Strauss. They used this as the first of them would graduate high school in the year 2000.
Remote Work
They want to be hard workers and invest in their jobs but they also don’t think the daily commute into the office is necessary. Gen Xer’s feel the same way and would prefer to work remotely, feeling Millennials are fueling the work-from-home boom.
