Weird November Activities Before The Weather Turns

  • Because if you're in the north, the weather is absolutely about to turn.

These weird November activities are perfect if you’re in the north because the weather is about to turn. Or are you a part of the 11% that considers winter their favorite season?

Pumpkin Patch

Even better before it gets too cold out is a trip to the pumpkin patch. There are still corn mazes to find your way through, pumpkins to be picked out and lots of treats to choose from. Also, you can make a homemade pumpkin pie, or several, by buying pie pumpkins which are sweeter than the big carving pumpkins. All you have to do is roast it and use the insides for your pie. This way you can bring two dishes to share by roasting the pumpkin seeds with cinnamon and sugar or garlic and parmesan and a high heat oil like avocado oil.

Thankful List

Make a list of everything you’re thankful for. This can be super fun and even eye-opening if you really dig in. Things like the sunset, your delicious dinner, a walk on the perfect evening, your job, coworkers that have become family, friends that are your family, the warmth of the sun, something funny that really made you laugh today, waking up without an alarm, getting a personal best at the gym, an animal that is happy to see you, pretty lights hanging in the night and anything else you can think of or things that are personal to you. This isn’t one of the weird November activities but instead, one of the best!

Homemade Thanksgiving Decorations

You can amplify any occasion with pretty things like fresh mums and pumpkins placed around, an assortment of gourds, candles for cozy lighting, and soft blankets for soft texture and warmth. Use a pumpkin to hold something such as flowers or utensils by placing a plastic container into the middle of a cleaned out pumpkin. Get outside with your decorations and meals to change it up as well and that’s what will make the candles and blankets so much more cozy!

Pickle Something

If you’ve never pickled something, you really should! From cucumbers to onions to green beans and even eggs, if you’re really brave, there are a bunch of ways to pickle. If you’re not a fan of pickling or vinegar, you could always can things such as jams and jellies or even fresh produce from your garden! If you’ve never tried this as one of the weird November activities, you really should!

Cook Something New

Why they heck not? Get into the kitchen, google fall recipes + (ingredients you like) and try a new dish. Yes, it could be terrible and leave you ordering a pizza. But it could also be absolutely amazing and something you love so much you want to make it right away again or even add it to your weekly favorites.

Journal

Write about what’s happening with you and your goals. If you had a bad day, write it out. If you had the best day ever, describe exactly how great you felt and pinpoint the things that made you feel best about it. Then, repeat, repeat, repeat!
