Tomorrow is National Clam Chowder Day and National Chocolate Covered Nut Day. They don’t really go together but Clam Chowder is a delicious way to enjoy a warm bowl of food as we finish out the winter and there’s never a time that a handful of chocolate nuts isn’t a delicious and fulfilling snack.
The 26th is National Letter To An Elder Day, National Set A Good Example Day, National Tell A Fairy Tale Day, National Pistachio Day and National Small Dog Day. Did
you know all these things are celebrated towards the end of February? You could write a letter to someone aging you know, which would set a good example, and in the letter you could tell a fairy tale, that involves a small dog and feeding that little pup some pistachios. Did that make sense and could you follow that day of end of February celebrations?
One the 27th, or typically the second to last (outside of Leap Year) day of the month, there’s Pokémon Day, Anosmia Awareness Day, National Retro Day, National Polar Bear Day, National Strawberry Day, and National Kahlua Day. Most of these are pretty explanatory but Anosmia is the total loss of smell, either temporary or permanent. And when it comes to the National Retro Day, it’s all about reminiscing about the past, with your feet firmly planted in the present.
There’s National Chili Day, celebrated on the 4th Thursday of February, National Skip The Straw Day is the 4th Friday and National Toast Day, on the last day of February.
On the 28th, there’s National Chocolate Souffle Day,
National Tooth Fairy Day, National Floral Design Day, National Public Sleeping Day, and National Time Refund Day.
If and when there is a February 29th, it’s the day to celebrate it being a National Leap Day. (And possibly Rare Disease Day, as it’s celebrated the last day of the month in February.)
So what do you think of these end of February celebrations? Let me know what you think in the comments.
