- What are your traditions or do you need some new ones?
Whether you’ve been celebrating a tradition for years or are just starting out, these are some of the best traditions are fun for the holiday season. Do you have traditions during the holidays?
Visit Your People
You don’t have to catch up over $100 dinner or buy extravagant gifts during the holidays, it can be fun just to make time for your people. Whether it’s your grandparents, your nieces and nephews or your best friend from high school, take the time to see some of your people. Laugh with them over coffee or spend a few hours baking together and make it a tradition! Speaking of baking..
Bake Cookies Together
Pick your friends or your family, or even a group of coworkers, get together and bake a bunch of cookies. It’s fun to get into the spirit with baked goods and baking with others is always a good time. To be sure you have an amazing variety, have everyone bring a recipe (and any special ingredients) so that you can all try each other’s favorites. Do you think this is one of the best traditions?
See A Tree Lighting
Not only is it free but it will get you out in the fresh air and into the Christmas spirit. If you don’t live in the north or don’t want to get out into the fresh air, you can always watch one on TV like the Rockefeller Center or even host one yourself. String up your tree with unlit lights and have a party just in time to plug them in. Who doesn’t love the lights during the holiday season?
Have A Gift-Wrapping Party
Have your people come over with their gifts and wrap them all together. Use bags or paper wrapping, ribbons or bows, tissue or metallic paper or whatever you like. Everyone has gifts they need to wrap so what a fun idea to have snacks, Christmas drinks and a night of wrapping your gifts?
Don Your Ugly Christmas Sweater
If ever there were a time to wear a terrible sweater, that time is now. During the holidays you can get away with cheesy and over the top shenanigans from your clothes to putting Christmas lights on your vehicle. Is this one of the best traditions for Christmas?
Christmas Pajama Day
You can pull out your pair from last year or buy yourself a new set, either way, this should be a part of your traditions this year. There is nothing better than a comfy set of pajamas and a blanket. Add a movie and some snacks or even some kind of Christmas project like adding tinsel to the tree and snuggle into comfort for the rest of your day.
Hide A Pickle Ornament In Your Tree
This is a popular German tradition and one that’s fun for everyone. The idea is to hide a pickle ornament in your tree and then the person who finds it is the first to open a present from under the tree. How do you get to pick who opens the presents first? Do you think this is one of the best traditions that should be on repeat for the Christmas season?
Open One Present on Christmas Eve
This is a fun tradition and one that everyone should really like. Most people open presents on Christmas Day but it can be fun to open some on Christmas Eve as well. Would you make this a part of your traditions?
