1Every Eurovision Concert since 1988
Eurovision is a singing/performance competition between European countries that some may call kitschy fun. But not David Hutchinson, a 56-year-old British man, who is decidedly obsessed with the annual event. He has spent £100,000 traveling to the various host countries since 1988. He boasts he saw Celine Dion before she was famous. He's also seen all of the weirder entries including Lordi, a heavy metal band from Finland that wears outrageous costumes and won the prize in 2006.
216 people have been to every Super Bowl
The Super Bowl began in 1967 and was a decidedly less spectacular affair (tickets were just $12). Since that time, of course, it has become one of the world's most watched sporting events. But only 16 people have been in attendance at every single game. They are three photographers, eight fans, one groundskeeper, and one team rep, Dana Hunt (wife of Kansas City Chiefs founder Lamar) who is also the only woman of the group. Total face value price of all the Super Bowl tickets is $16,000, but they obviously get scalped for more.
3Baseball fan has seen nearly every 3,000 career hit in his lifetime
Dr. Seth Hawkins is known in baseball circles as “Dr. Fan” for good reason—he has been in attendance at almost every game where a player has achieved their 3,000th hit. The retired professor started in 1970 with Hank Aaron and went all the way up to Alex Rodriguez in 2015. In fact, the only two he didn't see in person was Stan Musial in 1958 (he was still in high school) and Paul Waner in 1942, which occurred just a few days after he was born.
4Beatlemaniac who has been to every Abbey Road in England
This is a different kind of perfect attendance, as it involves the Beatles and an iconic street. Bryan Eccleshall has spent eight years visiting every single street in England named Abbey Road, which is also the title of the Beatles' penultimate album. There are 132 of them, and Bryan has spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars taking a photo of each. Although only one Abbey Road has an actual connection to the Fab Four, he said he did as a “conceptual art project.”
5Every country in the world (without flying)
Several people claim to have visited every country on the planet. James Asquith has visited 196 countries and said at 27 he's the youngest to do so; Gunnar Garfors claims he visited 198 places before turning 40. But current champ Graham Hughes, 33, has visited 201 countries without hopping on a plane! He has taken trains, taxis, boats, automobiles, and even walked, for a total of 160,000 miles on a budget of just $100 a week. He began his journey in 2009 in his hometown of Liverpool, England and ended it by visiting war-torn South Sudan.
6Woman who has seen almost every episode of "Coronation Street" since 1960
Gillian Metcalf was just 14 when the first episode of the British soap opera “Coronation Street” aired on December 9, 1960. She estimates she's spent around 4,000 hours watching its 8,500 episodes, only missing a few over the years. Her 50th wedding anniversary was spent with her husband touring the set. She admits she's probably wasted a lot of time watching the tele, but finds it a guilty pleasure that helps her relax.
7Grand Ol' Opry fan has seen every weekend show for 42 years
Paul Eckhart is a real Nashville country music fan. So much so, he made an effort to be in attendance at every Saturday installment of the Grand Ol' Opry music program for 42 years, almost exactly half his life. This dedication earned him his own parking space, a front row seat, and a commemorative plaque. At 83, he felt it was time to “retire,” from every weekend but promised he'd still come as often as he was able.
8Basketball legend saw the Grateful Dead 850+ times
Bill Walton is not only an NBA Hall of Famer but also the world's biggest Grateful Dead fan. In fact, the 6'11” center claims to have seen the band at least 859 times, starting with a show in 1967 and ending with their final five shows in 2015. That puts him at the top of the list of diehard Deadheads and is 391 more shows than games he played in the NBA.
9Most hardcore "Star Wars" fan saw Episodes I-VI, the Holiday Special and THEN "The Force Awakens" 9 times in a row
Jim Braden of Austin, Texas can count himself as one of the biggest “Star Wars” fans out there. That's because he was the winner of movie theater Alamo Drafthouse's Star Wars: The Marathon Awakens contest. This event consisted of watching both trilogies (separated by the laughable “Star Wars Holiday Special” from 1977), then sitting through the latest installment “The Force Awakens,” which played on continuous loop. No texting, sleeping or talking was allowed. Braden beat four other fanatics by making it through TFA 9 times, for a total of 46 hours of pure “Star Wars.”
10Woman has seen “Wicked” 100 times
Joann Pettiford of Melbourne, Australia loves the musical “Wicked” more than most. In fact, she has spent about $10,000 for tickets to the show and has seen it 100 times since 2008 by catching as many touring shows as she can. She was given a free seat by the producer for show number 100 and says she will continue to see it as much as she can.
