I was No Face from spirited away. I made the face huge, so it was about 50 cm taller than me. People said it was spooky, even the ones, who don’t know about the anime. Won the contest too.
I made my daughter a Christmas tree costume in third grade. Complete with ornaments and present boxes for shoes headband wit glitter star attached for topper. It was awesome. Sorry she wouldn’t let me post it
One guy was a block of cheese – he came running by us
screaming “help this guy is crazy!!!” Then came his friend, chasing him as a cheese grater.
I was a loaf of French bread one year. I made a pillow shaped like a loaf and sewed it to a shirt and then put on a black beret and had a fake cigarette. I really rose to the occasion and cracked bread puns all night. I’ve never had a breader costume!
When I was little, there was a guy in my neighborhood that dressed up as a patch of grass and hid on random lawns and he’d grab people’s ankles and give them a jump scare they would never forget… no, I’m not traumatized, why do you ask? Do you think this would be one of the best costumes worn or seen?
I work in social media. Before the pandemic, my team all wore logos of different social media platforms and butterfly wings and called ourselves the Social Butterflies. We won a (cute and homemade) trophy for it!
I made a sexy Beetlejuice sandworm costume, complete with accurate head, (my face was the second head, inside-the-mouth), and every time I ran into a Beetlejuice, we’d take ridiculous photos.
I dressed up as Edgar Allen Hoe, yes Hoe, last year! I thought it was pretty awesome lmao. Would you think of this as one of the best costumes worn or seen?
I was a tornado once. I had chickens, cows, barns, trees all
attached to my black dress and when people asked what I was I’d start spinning.
I saw a teenage girl with a bunch of mini cereal boxes attached to her t-shirt, which was spattered with fake blood and she carried a big fake knife. She was a “cereal killer”. I absolutely died laughing, it was so great and creative.
For a ski bunny, bunny ears headband, face paint whiskers/nose, carrot prop and tail on your ski outfit. Goggles around your neck or pushed up on your forehead if you don’t want to wear them on your eyes the whole time. My girlfriend went as a ski bunny a couple years back and that’s what she told me to tell you. Do you think this would be one of the best worn or seen costumes?
When I was 8 months pregnant and had an enormous stomach, I went as a beer-bellied redneck guy. Had on baggy jeans and a tiny white tank with my whole stomach hanging out. Flannel shirt with the sleeves ripped off so it was like a vest, a bail bondsmen trucker hat, mustache, a Bud heavy in my hand and a pack of Marlboro reds in my shirt pocket.
Had a trick-or-treater wearing a cut out of a bell. Her name was Isabelle. Is a bell. She got extra candy lol
Where I live, Halloween costumes have to be scary. So i dressed as a cuty ice cream and when people asked why I was scary i told them the death rates of diabetes.
I saw a guy dressed as a stuffed animal inside a claw machine. Like, an ACTUAL claw machine. He had a couple of friends helping carry it around as he walked, and they’d hand him drinks through the window where the prize would come out. It was so good!!! Is this one of the best worn or seen costumes you’ve ever heard of?
My favorite was 3 teenish girls dressed as the lion, the witch
and the wardrobe. We get lots of trick or treaters and they tend to blob at the door so I’m giving candy to ~20 kids one by one and boom, here’s the lion, next the witch and CLOMP CLOMP CLOMP up shuffles this gigantic, unwieldy cardboard constructed wardrobe. I sat down I was laughing so hard. Kudos to them and especially lil miss (giant) wardrobe.
Three of us dressed up as sexy nerds. My friends wore sexy school girl outfits with glasses and I wore a box of candy Nerds costume and heels. I held a sign that said “I didn’t get the memo”
When I had dreadlocks, I dressed up as Medusa. Wrapped each dread in green pipe cleaners, gave each one googley eyes and a little red ribbon tongue.
