Do These Things Before The Summer is Over and Fall Is Here

  • The temperatures have been so nice lately and late summer has set in.

It’s not the time when summer is over and fall is here but it’s about that time. Which of these activities will you get into before the end of the summer?

  • Go see small town America
  • Make tomato recipes-because they’re in season and they taste great right now! You could use them for canning as well, that way when you want a pot of spaghetti, you can pull out garden fresh tomatoes you canned yourself and add them to your dish.
  • See an outdoor concert. Is this something you will be sure to do before the summer is over?
  • Watch the sunset- from someplace new! Find an outlook spot or somewhere scenic and beautiful so you can see the full extent of the beautiful sky.
  • Attend a late-summer parade
  • Go pick strawberries- and make something with them! Cooking up a strawberry jam is so easy and fun because then, in the dead of winter, you can have fresh summer strawberry jam.
  • Go on a horse ride
  • Go to a county fair
  • Go to the roller rink with friends
  • Make a garden caddy for functional decor
  • Visit a local farmers market
  • Create your own signature cocktail
  • Play lawn games
  • Visit a botanical garden
  • Take in an outdoor movie (or visit an outdoor movie theater)- because what is more fun than relaxing in your car, the windows cracked, popcorn and a movie? Drive-in movies are such a fun experience, different than a theater but kind of the same and all outside.
  • Take a hike
  • Create a summer scrapbook
  • Pick a bunch of lavender- and visit a lavender farm while you’re at it! There are beautiful large lavender fields and they smell amazing and pop with the gorgeous purple coloring of the plant.
  • Find a swimming hole to jump into. This would be perfect before summer is over.
  • Kayak down the river- but make sure it has a little bit of a flow! Kayaking is fun and enjoyable but if you’re on a low body of water, even a river, it can make for a grueling and several hour long workout. So try it out but watch for a flow!
  • Pick some fresh flowers
  • Swim with sea turtles
  • Do something nice for a friend
  • Float down the river- if you haven’t already! It’s basically a “lazy river” but the river is real, the water is fresh and the vibes are all summer and chill. Many places offer this so you can choose whatever you like and enjoy getting some sun and having a lot of fun while floating.
  • Take a road trip
  • Give your car a scrub down, inside and out
  • Play in the sprinkler
  • Go visit a new park. Are you going to do this before the summer is over?
  • Create some homemade popsicles
  • Make s’mores
  • Look for free events- you never know what you can find! There are museums, zoos, different events free to the public and so much more that you can get into if you look into it!
  • Rent and drive a convertible
  • Read a book in the park (and maybe bring a hammock!)
  • Make corn on the cob
  • Take an entire afternoon to relax.- pull up a patch of grass, (no not really, but find somewhere to get comfortable,) and watch clouds for a couple hours. You could pick grass too and whistle with it or tear it into pieces and throw it up like grass confetti. A nap could be nice as well or you could read a book or get into your favorite magazine and all the drama of the stars.
  • Go out and look at the birds
  • Make your backyard into a pool oasis
  • Make lobster rolls
  • Take a bike ride
  • Take a night walk and look at the starts
  • Spend time outside on the water

We still have about three weeks of official summer so try one of these soon before the summer is over!
