- This is for all the winter and snow lovers out there!
These things about winter are amazing, like the warm sun on a cold and windless day! And if you don’t agree, why do you live where it’s cold and it snows?
The Ice
Hear me out about the ice. As long as you’re inside, or for that matter, driving safely, ice in the winter is absolutely magical. The way it sticks to the trees and every single branch and twig? The way it shines and sparkles in the sun? It’s just stunning. Yes, it’s better to be inside and looking at it while it’s outside, agree on that. But even the day after an ice storm, you will not find something more beautiful that that!
The Sky
Have you ever noticed the sky on an ice cold and frigid day? Chances are it is clear and blue and honestly stunning! That’s the thing about the coldest days of the winter. If there aren’t any clouds and there isn’t any wind and you’re outside soaking up the sun, it will feel truly warm. The sun is what makes the ice shine in the winter and it can keep you warm as long as there is a low to no breeze that day.
The Snow
If you don’t like snow, you should not live in the north. Sorry not sorry. There are so many places that don’t get snow or the snow doesn’t stick and if you don’t like it, you should really just leave. Why? Because the snow is the best part of winter, that’s why! It sparkles, makes everything white and more bright, makes everything more quiet and again, as long as you’re not on the road, it makes everything feel more calm. And if it’s going to be cold outside, then damn it, it might as well snow. Is this one of the things you love about the winter?
No Wind
On a cold winter’s day, there is literally nothing better than no wind. Whether there is snow everywhere or not, without wind you can be outside a lot longer and it’s much more enjoyable. Which leads into the next thing being…
Sledding/Skiing/Snowboarding
Again, if you don’t like the snow, you should move to somewhere you do like the weather. But if you are here and you do like the snow, there is nothing better than a day without wind and getting into your favorite outside activities. Sledding or tubing is one great way to pass the day. And if you’re really skilled or you like to try, you can always ski or go snowboarding. If it has to be winter and there’s gonna be snow, you might as well get out and enjoy it! Do you think this is one of the best things about winter?
The Sun
The sun on a cold day is simply amazing! A known mood booster and essential for Vitamin D, there is almost nothing better for you than getting in a daily dose of the sun. Plus, depending on where you live, there may not be much sun throughout the season so everyday with sun is an amazing one!
The best things about winter are also how it is at night, from home, and that is, truly magical! The only thing that really sucks about the winter? The roads. They do.
