80s Fashion That’s Making A Comeback in 2026

  • Because you know past decades always come back around!

80s fashion is coming back around, like decades styles usually do. What do you think is coming back into fashion for 2026?

Do you remember the statement jewelry and how much we all loved it? The chunky gold chains, oversized earrings, and bold brooches are starting to come back again. But the question on everyone’s mind of course is, are you going big with your jewelry for 2026.

Synth-heavy music like modern pop, indie, and film scores are again leaning heavily into analog synths and retro electronic sounds.

We all know that high-waisted jeans have been back for a minute but it seems that the more  classic ’80s mom jeans with more relaxed fits are beginning to dominate. They’ve also been updated a bit with better stretch, washes, and sustainability. Are you into this 80s fashion?

Shoulder pads back in the day were extreme, so now we would call them 2026 refined. You’ll find these pads again in blazers, dresses, and even knitwear with the idea of creating stronger silhouettes.

Power dressing is back meaning structured blazers, sharp tailoring, and exaggerated shoulders are popular again. This look gives confidence and authority, though we are liking the softer fabrics and modern cuts.

Aerobics aesthetic wear like spandex, bodysuits, headbands, and sporty layering is a nod directly to ’80s fitness culture and comfort.

Remember all the neon of the 80s? These bold, maximalist color palettes are coming back, too, with neon accents, jewel tones, and high-contrast color combos. Does this mean goodbye to all the neutrals we’ve been loving for years? What do you think for this comeback of 80s fashion?

Leg warmers, but not just for  aerobics, have made a return of their own. They can be styled with streetwear and cold-weather outfits.

Vinyl records have been back on the increase for a while now. And continues its rise in popularity as a preferred format for music lovers who want a tangible, nostalgic experience.

Scrunchies have come back, and for more than just pulling your hair back during a workout or while washing your face? Hair accessories like velvet scrunchies, banana clips, and oversized bows are back, feeling as playful and nostalgic as ever.

We all remember the big hair of the 80s. All that volume is back with blowouts, soft perms, and layered cuts. (We aren’t, however, out here dousing our hair in aqua net and we’re all pretty sure that won’t be coming back in the 2020s.)

Retro sneakers like basketball-style high-tops and chunky trainers inspired by ’80s sportswear are here again. Are you a fan of this 80s fashion?

Oversized everything and comfiest with leggings. Slouchy sweaters, boxy jackets, and even loose trousers reflect the decade’s love of excess flowy fabrics and comfort.

Arcade and pinball culture is on the rise with retro arcades and home gaming setups trending again. Throw on an oversized sweater, leggings and legwarmers with high-tops and you’re practically living 40 years ago.

Graphic tees and logos with loud prints, vintage fonts, and ironic slogans are popular again, inspired by ’80s pop culture we know and love.
