7 Weird Natural Ways To Have Healthy Skin

  • Healthy skin starts within and the rest of this could make it that much more radiant!

Did you know that November is National Healthy Skin month? Because it is and these are all the natural ways that you can use to take care of your skin.

Honey

When you add honey to your skin, it draws moisture from the air and binds it. The added hydration will give your skin a fresh, youthful glow and suppleness, which will aid in making fine lines and wrinkles less noticeable. Honey contains natural antioxidants that fight free radicals, one of the leading causes of premature aging. Try using honey and see what it can do for your healthy skin!

Coconut Oil

Remember those pre 2020 memes about how coconut oil can do anything? Because it pretty much can and when it comes to your skin, it’s nothing but good for it. Coconut oil is hydrating and has anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore, when you use it on your skin, it can help suppress some natural inflammation within your body. (Side note: use coconut oil as a mask in your hair for amazing moisture and soft, shiny locks. Careful though if you want to use this oil on your face, as it *could* create breakouts.

Green Tea

Green Tea has sun protection benefits and anti-aging properties. There is a connection between drinking green tea and improved health.  The polyphenols in green tea have antioxidant properties as well as soothing abilities. These both can help treat address and treat sun-damaged skin.

Homemade Exfoliating Scrub

There is literally nothing to this and you can use it all over your body to help get your best skin! Avoid your face though as this scrub will be too abrasive for your face skin. For this scrub, pick your favorite oil whether coconut or avocado. To a mason jar, fill about ¾ with salt and then fill the rest with oil. That’s literally it. Apply before you shave or a couple of times a week for your softest and smoothest skin (and shave!) Using a scrub like this will help you have more healthy skin.

Water

It should be obvious with our bodies being made up of up to 60% water, that we need to drink water. And we need to drink lots of water, everyday. This will do wonders for your skin, not only hydrating it but helping to prevent premature aging, faster healing, reduced puffiness and acne. Water can also help itchy skin, from the inside out and it also toughens skin.

Shea Butter

Shea butter has anti-inflammatory properties and helps with itch relief, too. There’s a reason it’s an ingredient in many moisturizers. The nutrients in shea butter have calming and anti-inflammatory effects for the skin, and might be useful to help treat and sooth eczema. Shea butter hasn’t been shown to cause skin allergies, so it can be good for the most sensitive of skin types, to promote healthy skin.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has antioxidant and antibacterial properties, helps accelerate healing and can reduce constipations, too. It can be used to moisturize and slow you skins aging.
