October 9th is Hangul Day, in South Korea, known as Korean Alphabet Day. The day is one of national pride, as the first alphabet was created in 1446 to end the usage of Chinese characters in Korea. Maybe down a few bowl of alphabet soup on the 9th to celebrate? Or just indulge in some Korean BBQ.
