19. Bloody New Zealand Shark Attack
In 2013, a shark killed a man in a bloody encounter. The swimmer Adam Strange was swimming alone when he encountered a huge great white shark. A police helicopter flying overhead witnessed the attack, stating that Strange swam right into a group of sharks feeding. Another witness said he saw a huge shark attacking Strange and tried to call out to him and direct him to shore. The witness saw several other sharks begin to attack, stating that blood was everywhere.
By the time a rescue boat arrived, Strange was dead. The police shot the 14-foot shark 12 times before it released the body of Strange.
