- Roanoke Colony – An entire English settlement disappeared in the late 1500s. When rescuers arrived, the only major clue was the word “CROATOAN” carved into a structure.
- Mary Celeste discovery – The ship was found drifting with supplies, cargo, and personal belongings still aboard, but the crew was missing.
- Dyatlov Pass Incident – Nine hikers died in the Ural
