You don’t have to have been to these amazing National Parks to know more about them. But you should try to go, of course, to see them in real life.
Zion National Park

Redwood National Park
The tallest tree in the world is called Hyperion. The Guinness Book of World Records gave it its recognition. And shockingly, the tallest tree in the world is growing on a hill.
Wind Cave National Park
Wind Cave National Park is the first cave to be designated a national park anywhere in the world.
Wrangell-St. Elias National Park
This enormous park is over 13.2 million acres, and the same size as Yosemite, Yellowstone and Switzerland combined.
Sequoia National Park
The bark of the giant sequoia tree may be the thickest bark of any tree on Earth. The super protection includes sections of the tree with bark over two feet thick, especially at the base, which protects the tree against extreme elements.
Mount Rainier National Park
Mount Rainier has a volcano so big it’s known as a stratovolcano. This volcano is one of the most dangerous in the world. This is the craziest of things in the amazing national parks.
Virgin Islands National Park
There is only one mammal native to St. John and that’s the bat. Bats help pollinate many floral species and eat lots of insects, mainly mosquitos.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park
Theodore Roosevelt went to the Badlands as a game-hunter and was inspired by the rugged landscape. During his presidency, Roosevelt helped to establish 230 million acres of public lands.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park
The Smokies have 100 species of trees that are native to the park. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has more native trees than any other national park in North America.
Pinnacles National Park
Pinnacles National Park is the newest of the 59 National Parks. It’s filled with amazing rock formations, fields of spring wildflowers and large groups of endangered condors.
North Cascades National Park
The national park with the most glaciers of any U.S. park (outside of Alaska) is in North Cascades National Park. This park has more than 300 glaciers. Seeing a glacier in real life would be so cool in these amazing national parks.
Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park covers almost one million acres and has three different ecosystems, too. This state boasts glaciated mountains, rugged Pacific coastline and lush temperate forests.
Saguaro National Park
These cactuses take a long time to grow, so long, that it takes seven decades or 70 years for it to grow its first arm. It’s illegal to ruin or damage these plants, and if you try and are caught, you face jail time and fines.
National Park of American Samoa
There is only one park with a National Park Service site that is south of the Equator and that is in the National Park of American Samoa.
Yosemite National Park
The largest exposed granite monolith in the world is about 350 stories above Yosemite Valley, called El Capitan.
