Damar Hamlin

Damar Hamlin plays for the Buffalo Bills and suffered cardiac arrest on August 26th, 2023. They weren’t sure what caused cardiac arrest but cardiac arrest experts say that the blow to his chest in the game may have been what sent his heart into arrhythmia. However, he dressed for the October 1st, 2023 NFL game against the Chicago Bears and recently told ESPN that, “My focus was just coming back. That was the hardest part, … Just growing and trying to get back to myself, and then … trying to rebuild myself into something that I haven’t been yet.”

Kylian Mbappé

Mbappé was the second-highest scorer in world football with a total of 52 goals and the third highest scorer in club history. Not only that but he’s also finished as the leagues top scorer four times and won the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award three times. Makes sense why he was one of the trending searches of last year.

Travis Kelce

As a football player, Kelcy is already one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history and he’s doing better every year. And then there was the whole thing about him dating Taylor Swift and everyone wanting to know who he was. So ya, he was google a lot.

Ja Morant

Morant was suspended for the first 25 games of the ‘23/24 season following an Instagram Live where Morant had a gun. The NBA explained that the suspension was a result of detrimental conduct to the league.  Too bad it wasn’t his playing that had him as one of the largest trending searches of 2023.

Harry Kane

Harry Kane says that he “felt like this was the time to leave” when he posted a goodbye message to Tottenham before moving to Bayern Munich. “I wanted to be the first to tell you Tottenham fans that I will be leaving the club today,” said Spurs’ all-time record scorer. “Obviously a lot of emotions going through me now. Sad to be leaving the club I have spent nearly 20 years of my life at from an 11-year-old boy to a 30-year-old man, there have been so many great moments and special memories, memories that I will cherish forever. This is thank you to all to all my team-mates over the years, all my coaches, all the managers, every single staff member to do with the club, from the kit men to the chefs, everyone involved. Obviously I built special relationships with a lot of people. And most importantly a thank you to you the Tottenham fans. From the moment I’ve been playing I’ve been one of your own and I’ve given everything that I possibly could to make you proud and give you as many special moments and memories to hopefully last forever.”
