How is elf on the shelf going this year? If you’re stumped for ideas, here’s
- Make a spa mask for Elf.
- Place Elf with his head sticking out of a sweatshirt.
- Change a typical photo hanging in the house with a photo of Elf and him next to it.
- Trace the Elf’s shadow on a piece of paper and him next to it.
- Have Elf sit next to a pile of mini marshmallows, on in his lap and him excited for a snowball fight.
- Prop up Elf holding a spoon, ready to bake cookies. Pastry Chef Elf on the Shelf.
- Set Elf in an apron pocket on holiday baking day, so he can be a part of the activities.
- Put new clothes for Elf in the Advent calendar so he can participate.
- Feature Elf making a snow angel with some flour on the kitchen counter.
- Put Elf in front of a painting or picture, enjoying art.
- Put Elf in a pile of wrapping paper and bows, busy wrapping gifts.
- Put knitting needles in Elf’s hand and place him in a comfortable spot.
- Have Elf with a laptop sending an email to his Elf friends.
- Use a travel-sized toothbrush and toothpaste to brush Elf’s teeth.
- Put Elf in a toy car, ready for a ride.
- Place Elf in a sink of cotton balls for a bubble bath or in a toy boat for a little boating.
- Have Elf wear a black top hat and watch Frosty the Snowman together.
- Let Elf play Tic Tac Toe with another toy friend or have him sit on one side of it, ready to play anyone who approaches.
- Have Elf hold a crayon beside the wall. Naughty Elf on the Shelf.
- Have Elf at the bottom of the banister as if he slid down it.
- Have Elf sitting next to a record player, ready for mischief.
- Place Elf in a crafty mess of glue, glitter and paper or just posed next to these items for a quick and easy clean up.
- Have Elf sitting next to the window, ready for an adventure.
- Place Elf in a coat pocket. A stowaway Elf on the Shelf!
- Place Elf on top of a gingerbread house, maybe next to a lose piece of candy.
- Let Elf TP the bathroom.
- Make a cutout face the Elf can “stand” behind and put his face through, like those wooden bodies they use at the fair for pictures
- Pull out Twister and have Elf on one of the colored circles.
- Create Bingo cards and invite Elf to play.
- Place Elf next to bubble bath and the tub. Hint, hint.
- Have Elf sticking out of stocking one night before Christmas time.
- Have Elf perched on the washer or dryer, ready to help around the house.
- Have Elf go camping or holding something as if he’s camping in the house for the day.
- Put a snack next to Elf while watching Frozen.
- Have Elf climb the wall using double-sided tape. You could place Elf in so many positions with double-sided tape.
- Have Elf join in on the Nativity scene.
- Get some new pajamas, with Elf perched on them as if it’s from Elf.
- Elf next to the piano with sheet music for some Christmas songs.
- Tuck Elf into a mitten or boot. Surprise!
- Surround Elf with a bowl full of ice cubes with a sign that says “Ice Ice Baby.”
- Watch Elf with Elf!
- Have Elf next to some treats for your pet.
