Anyone heading to Palm Springs is remiss in skipping Salvation Mountain. It’s been called a national treasure and needs public support to survive. The art piece is constructed from adobe, straw and then thousands of gallons of paint. The work focuses on Bible verses and Christian prayer, but all can appreciate the folk artistry.
