See Matthew Shepard, killed for being gay, or Tyler Clemeni, the gay victim of Dharun Ravi's nasty webcam (Ravi got off wayyyyy too easy....).
The book BEASTLY is fiction, about a straight boy who bullies a girl, similar story to one listed above, but I thought it was worth mentioning. The book was better than the movie, I thought.
