(Reader Contribution to Sex In The Middle Ages: 10 Titillating Facts You Wanted To Know But Were Afraid to Ask)I've read there was something called "Droit de Seigneur" (in Spanish, "Derecho de Pernada"), which allowed feudal lords to spend the first night with a just-married bride whenever one of his serves got married. There's no legal evidence, and yet some think it may also refer to a payment the husband could do in species (metals, grains, you name it) to avoid giving away his wife for the first night.
