I've read there was something called "Droit de Seigneur" (in Spanish, "Derecho de Pernada"), which allowed feudal lords to spend the first night with a just-married bride whenever one of his serves got married. There's no legal evidence, and yet some think it may also refer to a payment the husband could do in species (metals, grains, you name it) to avoid giving away his wife for the first night.
