At the end of the XIX and until before the World War II, in the Atacama desert, north of Chile, saltpeter mines represented almost all of the Chilean economy.
These towns were real miracles in the middle of the desert, they had their own schools, hospitals, theatres and swimming pools.
Now they are ghost towns in the middle of the desert, inviting to bring back tolife a glorious time in Chilean history.
