Waxberry or Yangmei
(Reader Contribution to 10 Most Exotic Fruits)
Luscious red berry flavor. Sweet, tangy, similar to amix of mulberry, strawberry and red raspberry. I first encountered this fruit being sold by street vendors in Shanghai. Seasonal available in June and July only.
