A town called Sexmoan

Sexmuan, Pampanga, Philippines. The pronunciation is actually SEX-mu-ahn, but to pronounce it sex moan instead, as in the love-making sound, is irresistible. The original name is SASMUAN, or a patriotic meeting place beneath the nipa trees, in old Kapampangan. When American forces came just before the turn of the century, they misheard and butchered the name, which is how many modern names originated. Or perhaps US soldiers just wanted to have fun with these simple farming folk.
