In The Netherlands, Oisterwijk, which is one of the richest villages in the Netherlands, a police officer visited old widows. He helped them and convinced them to put him in their will. He inherited multiple houses and some jewelry this way.

I couldn't find source, but it has been on tv in Peter R. de Vries his television show.
