CIA Spy Cats

The CIA acoustically-wired cats were not, as the above text indicates, a failure. Cats were sent to Moscow and other locations and used in the field, along with trained ravens and other unlikely suspects. More, the acoustic research funded by the CIA to wire subcutaneously wire their cats became the cochlear implants of today!
(Bob Bailey & Marian Breland Bailey, of Animal Behavior Enterprises, did most of the animal training. Marian Breland had worked with B.F. Skinner as a grad student; Bob Bailey was the first Navy dolphin trainer.)
