Ebola may not have killed millions like smallpox and AIDS, but with mortality rates as high as 90%, and a myriad of horrific symptoms (bleeding from every orifice as well as bloody diarrhea and vomit) make it a contender for this list. In addition, there's no known cure or standard treatment for Ebola, which essentially limits medical personnel to comforting the patient while keeping their fingers crossed. Lastly, the origin of Ebola is unknown, making preventative measures impossible, and solidifying Ebola as one of the worst plagues Earth has ever known.
