In Portugal and Spain, "borrego" ("lamb") stands also for dumb, fool.
The word you're referring to about the Ascona, is actually "cona" ("cunt") and it's rather the other way around: it's "in Portugal and parts of Northern of Spain" (Galicia (NW), actually).
In Portugal, during dictatorship days, until 74, it was marketed as the Opel 1604.
Rexona soap also had it's name changed to Rexina, during the same times, and license plate codes like "CU" (ass, butt) and "FD" ("FK") were also prudently avoided.
In portuguese, "besta" ("beast" (and, with an open "e", "crossbow")) is also a brute. Otoh, unlike in Brasil, "pinto", in Portugal, is just a baby chick.
