As ghost town of Craco was mentioned on this site I would suggest also to take into consideration the town of Pentedattilo (not so far away from) which has passed through similar events. Southern Italy (Mean the poorest areas in Italy) is an almost infite source of ghost town and I do to get some more in the list as many villages in Basilicata and Calabria are quickly decreasing in size and inhabitants (have a look at Castelmezano, Corleto Perticara, and others)....
