Denzel Washington Oscar Conspiracy
(Reader Contribution to 7 Craziest Conspiracy Theories)Ali Hakan, a writer for Radikal newspaper in Istanbul wrote that Denzel Washington received the Academy Award for Training Day as a peace-offering to the Muslim community after the invasion of Afghanistan. Hakan wrote that since the overwhelming majority of black Americans were Muslim, Hollywood conspired to "give" Washington the Oscar in hopes that the Muslim community would forgive the US for the invasion. Why they didn't "give" the Oscar to Will Smith, nominated for playing Muhammed Ali, wasn't mentioned.
