In Brazil prisoners get permission to go home on holydays (Christmas, Easter, father's day and mother's day), with the recommendation that they get back to prison the day after. Theorically, only prisoners sentenced for minor crimes and that already have served 1/3 of the sentence (1/2 if reincident) have the benefit.
The best part? They don't have to wear ankle belts, because, you know, it's inhuman. Michael Scofield wouldn't have to be such a genius here.
