Lost ring - Found

Back in the early 1990's a group of us went tubing down the river, drinking and just enjoying the 4th of July week-end. At the end of the river, we missed the area that you're supposed to get off at, so we went a little further until we could stop all of the tubes. As I slowly made my way to the top of the steep hill we had to climb, I heard one of the women I was with crying.
I dropped the tubes and ran back down to the bottom of the hill to see what had happened. The other 4 or 5 women in the group are about 40 to 50 feet away, all digging up handfuls of sand in the river. It turns out that this woman had lost her dad's class ring, he had given it to her on his deathbed.
I felt really helpless, so I reached down into the river and picked up a cupped handfull of sand and saw something glistening (Remember we had all been drinking)so I said "is this it" and it turned out to be her ring!
