The Wave in Vejle, Denmark

(Reader Contribution to 10 Weirdest and Uniquely Shaped Buildings)

The small town of Vejle in Denmark received in 2009 a building that will be a beautiful architectural symbol. The Wave in Vejle is a residential complex, designed by Henning Larsen Architects.

The unique shapes make this building into a sculptural work. The wave form is inspired by the characteristics of the area where it was inserted: the sea, the bridge and the hills. Due to some characteristics of the area the building was not complete with four "waves", but the proximity to the sea and the reflection of the building in the water bring even more beauty to the shape of this set of 140 apartments and don't loose nothing of the awesomeness even if incomplete.
