(Reader Contribution to 20 Most Amazing Coincidences)Two very intriguing cases of fairly recent times, the Madeline McCann case and the Hemraj-Aarushi Talwar double murder case appear to share too many “coincidences” which I would like to share with the readers. Madeleine McCann “disappeared” on the evening of Thursday, May 3, 2007 while on a holiday with her parents and twin siblings in the Algarve region of Portugal. She has not been traced since.

Aarushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj were found murdered in a flat at Noida (UP) near Delhi on May 16, 2008. Although the suspicion has been cast on Aarushi's parents, the case has not been solved yet.
In both cases:
- Parents are medical doctors in both cases
- In either case, one close relative is an anesthesiologist (Madeline's mother and Dr. Vandana Talwar-Aarushi's aunt).
- Victims: IVF (In-vitro fertilization) babies
- Crimes: on Thursday nights
- First reactions of parents on first noticing the crime: Madeline's mother Kate- “THEY have taken her”. Talwars- “See what Hemraj has done”
- Family & friends arrived before police were called
- Gerry McCann claimed that his e-mail account had been hacked and Dr. Rajesh Talwar claimed that his mobile phone had been hacked.
- Some mobile phone messages allegedly deleted
- Touch-DNA figured in both cases
- Alleged lack of emotion shown by the parents during interviews to the media.
- Both parents: Say they were allegedly instructed by police not to appear for interviews or show emotions
- Madeleine disappeared on Thursday, 3 May 2007 evening a few days before her birthday; Saturday, 12 May 2007.
- Aarushi killed on Thursday (early morning, Friday) 16 May 2008 a few days before her birthday; 24 May, 2008 Saturday.
- Aarushi case: Parents slept through the crime. Madeline case: The twins slept through the crime and the ‘hysterical' wailing of Kate MacCann.
- Madeline's parents started a famous fund-raising campaign to help find Madeline.
