Jason Becker: The Composer That Talks With His Eyes

Born in 1969, Jason Becker formed the neo-classical metal guitar duo Cacophony with his friend Marty Friedman at age 16. In 1989 he broke off to do solo work. He later joined David Lee Roth's band. Soon he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. He was given 3 to 5 years to live. Jason survived, but eventually lost control of most of his body parts, including his vocal chords. Because of this, he invented a system of communication that involves eye motions to communicate with his father. He can no longer play uitar, but continues to compose with the help of a computer.
